This night, as we sat eating dinner, Em leaned in and looked at me.
“Sooo…how was school?” She asked in a chipper tone.
“Sooo…how was school?” I asked her back.
“No. I’m asking you. How was school?”
“I didn’t go to school today, silly. I went to work.”
“Oh, yes. Sooo…how was work?”
“It was fine. How was school?”
“It was veeerry good,” she replied as she continued to focus on her meal.
Veeeerry good, I thought. Very good indeed.
